2009 Night of Luminaries

The seventh annual “Night of Luminaries” free community event at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton was held Thursday, December 3 at UACCM. The event featured nearly 2,000 candle-lit paper bags decorated by Conway County schoolchildren illuminating the drive through campus, cookies, hot cocoa and cider, gifts for children, and an appearance by Santa and his helpers.

During the event, approximately 225 gift bags were distributed to children, and hundreds of community members attended throughout the evening. Special thanks go to Haynes Home Center for their generous donation of the sand for the luminary bags and to UACCM employees, who donated refreshments and served guests. Thanks also to all community members who attended the most successful “Night of Luminaries” ever.
