Both teacher and student need certain characteristics to be successful, i.e., a positive math attitude, high expectations, organization, and self-motivation. I love helping the students that want to be helped. Organization decreases the student's anxiety, especially in the developmental math courses. My part of the teaching and learning experience involves preparing, organizing, presenting, evaluating, and assessing in a clear, correct, and concise manner. The student's part of the learning experience involves preparing, organizing, practicing, analyzing, and applying the formulas, technology, and tools. If both parties do their part, learning is a likely outcome.
