Adult Education Center

UACCM operates two adult education centers, one in Conway County and one in Perry County. These programs are designed to help people improve their skills in English, math, and reading. The centers provide GED instruction, basic skills refresher courses for students about to enter college and training for people who need to develop their basic skills for the workplace. 

Classes and testing are offered for FREE and textbooks are available for classroom use.

GED®

You can earn your high school diploma now.

Every year the GED program helps open the door to a better future for thousands of Arkansans. Regardless of the reason you didn’t get your high school diploma, you can begin today on the path to a more capable you. Diplomas are awarded based on five tests, which includes general knowledge and thinking skills. Life experiences and acquired skills are just as important as facts, figures and definitions in passing the GED tests.

Changes AheadThe UACCM Adult Education Program would like to inform you of the new changes coming to all Adult Education Programs across the state of Arkansas.

You only have a year to obtain your GED® at no cost to you!

By December 2013, the GED® exam will become a new computerized test with new test standards that include problem-solving, computer skills, and more advanced mathematics. In addition to increasing subject matter, the GED® exam will cost a proposed fee of $96.

 

Career Readiness

Earn Certificates of Competency.

Today’s Arkansas employers are hiring and promoting employees who can read, write, compute, solve problems, and communicate well. Arkansas career readiness certificates are designed to provide that proof for potential employers.

Free Microsoft Office Certification

In an unprecedented collaboration between Microsoft and the State of Arkansas, Arkansas Adult Education programs are now administering FREE Microsoft Office 2010 training and certification exams. Click here for more details.

Beyond Your GED

Students who complete their GED may receive a tuition waiver scholarship for a 3-hour college class at UACCM. This scholarship provides a great chance to continue your educational journey into higher education. Also, students who score in the top ten percent state-wide on their GED test are eligible for a full tuition scholarship to UACCM, which is renewable for up to 4 semesters. The scholarships must be utilized within a year of the student’s GED test date.

Improve Your Basic Skills

Reading and writing open the door to your personal power and self-confidence. When you read well, there is nothing you cannot accomplish. Math skills are a must in today’s workplace. Study math in an adult education classroom to gain confidence with the math skills you’ll need for college, a new job, or just with everyday life.
