The College Level Examination Program allows students to earn a maximum of 30 hours of college credit through either the general and/or subject examinations. It is possible to earn 29 semester hours of credit through the CLEP General Examinations and 18 semester hours of credit through the CLEP Subject Examinations; however, in no case may a student earn more than one-half of the degree requirements through credit by examination. Credit earned through CLEP may satisfy general education requirements; however, to be awarded credit, students must complete with passing grades twelve hours of credit courses at UACCM. Credit may be earned before or after enrollment as long as a comparable or more advanced course in that area has not been completed.
College Catalog
The College Catalog is the primary source of information about the College. It contains the Academic Calendar, programs of study, course descriptions, college policies and procedures, and information about student support services. The printed catalog is updated annually, with the online version updated constantly. Students should retain the catalog they are given for the entire time they are enrolled at UACCM—the plan of study entered in one's first semester is the plan students stick with, even if the courses change. Remember- if it is written in the catalog, you are expected to know it.
College Success Orientation
All first-time entering freshmen and transfer students enrolled in at least six semester credit hours at UACCM are REQUIRED to complete a one-day college success orientation prior to the beginning of the semester. Students may choose from the following dates for enrollment beginning with the fall 2010 semester:

Course Description
The description of every course offered at UACCM is available in the College Catalog. This includes any pre-requisites, a list of competencies to be learned, when the course is offered, and the number of credit hours each course is worth.
Course Number
The course number is a 4-digit number that appears after the department name (for example ENG 1013) to identify a particular course. The first digit identifies the college level: “0” indicates a developmental course that is not college-level; “1” is a freshman level or first-year course; and “2” indicates a sophomore or second-year course. The last digit identifies the number of credit hours earned by successful completion of the course.
Credit Courses
Credit courses are those for which, upon successful completion, students are given credit that can be applied to meet the requirements for a certificate or associate degree granted by UACCM. Additional courses that can be transferred to meet requirements for a degree or certificate at another Arkansas institution and developmental courses for which credit equivalency is granted are also considered credit courses. All credit courses are assigned a course number.
Credit Hour
Also known as semester hour, a credit hour is approximately equal to the number of total hours spent in class each week during a standard semester. Most college lecture courses are worth three credit hours. Courses that include lab sessions may be worth four or five credit hours. Look at the last digit of a course number to determine the number of credits earned.
