(Students are required to take Freshman Seminar if they score below a 19 on the ACT test in reading, math or writing or comparable scores on the COMPASS test. )

Admission
Admission into the UACCM nursing program is a competitive process. There are a number of requirements which must be completed before a student can be considered for the nursing program. Click Here to learn more about the admission process for Practical Nursing.
After UACCM
Graduates have no problem finding employment. Students go to work in hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes.
Hint
  • Because students should plan on studying most of the time, they should plan to work as little as possible.
  • Students must complete all developmental courses needed before beginning program specific courses.
Note

Students completing the Practical Nursing program are qualified to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX). After passing this exam, students may enter the job market as a licensed practical nurse or use their license to enter a registered nursing program.

Students are required to be finger printed and have a criminal background check before being allowed to sit for the NCLEX, the nursing exam.
