In addition to the course requirements listed, students must successfully pass the Praxis I exam and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.65. The Arkansas pass score for the Praxis I are as follows: Reading=172, Writing=173, Math=171. Students must check with the admitting four-year university for Praxis I requirements. Please see the Division Chair for Education, Marilyn Thomas, if you have any questions regarding the requirements for the AAT degree.

Students are encouraged to take UACC 1041 Study Skills their first semester to better equip them to make the transition from high school to college-level course work.

This plan of study is designed for persons who plan to transfer to Arkansas Tech University to complete a bachelor's degree in Education in Middle-Level Math/Science. This plan is not a guarantee that the student will be admitted into the Teacher Education Program at ATU.

  • Students are recommended to have a 2.65 GPA and pass the PRAXIS I before graduation.
  • Start working on your transfer at the beginning of your second year. It is important that you make contact with the College of Education as well as the Admissions Office at the college or university to which you are transferring.
