* Field Experience I and II may be waived for students having two years experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in institutional food service production. The waiver must be approved by the dietary management program administrator.

A student must maintain a grade of “C” or better in each of the required courses in the Dietary Management program to take the Certified Dietary Management Exam.

Students are subject to criminal background checks and TB skin test clearance.

Students are encouraged to take ACAD 0411 College Study Skills their first semester to better equip them to make the transition from high school to college-level course work.

NoteS

  • A student must maintain a grade of "C" or better in each of the required courses in the Dietary Management program to take the Certified Dietary Management Exam.
  • The Dietary Management Program is designed for individuals who wish to obtain the Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential. The program follows the curriculum prescribed by the Dietary Managers Association. Field Experience I consists of 50 hours of supervised, hands-on experience in commercial food service operations. Field Experience II consists of 50 hours of supervised, hands-on experience in food service department management. Field Experience III consists of 50 hours of supervised, hands-on experience in patient care.
