1961 – The Arkansas General Assembly approves funding for a second state vocational-technical school
1962 – Marlin and Marvine Hawkins donate 21 acres of property, ensuring Morrilton is selected for the future location
1962 – State Board of Education names school after a local landmark – Petit Jean Mountain
1962 – Thurston Kirk appointed as first director of Petit Jean Vocational Technical School
1963 – Construction of first building completed; first classes begin in September under direction of Thurston Kirk
1985 – Nathan Crook named director; Technology Building II opens
1990 - Petit Jean Vocational-Technical School (PJVTS) enrollment stands at 318 students
1991 – Act 1244 is passed by the Arkansas Legislature converting Petit Jean Vo-Tech and 13 other vocational-technical schools to technical colleges
1991 – Petit Jean Vocational-Technical School officially becomes Petit Jean Technical College (PJTC)
1993 – Science Building/Kirk Building renovations completed
1993 – PJTC receives initial candidacy status from the North Central Association as an institution of higher education
1995 – PJTC gains full candidacy status from the North Central Association
1997 – Petit Jean Technical College changes name to Petit Jean College to reflect its more comprehensive mission
1997 – PJC receives full accreditation status from North Central Association
1999 – Fine Arts phase I and The Plaza open
2000 – Conway County voters pass a ¼-cent sales tax to support the college
2001 – Petit Jean College merges with the University of Arkansas System to become the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton; enrollment is 1290
2001 – Business Technology Center and Fine Arts phase II open
2004 – University Center opens
2007 – University Bookstore opens
2009 – Library Complex opens
2010 – Dr. Larry Davis named chancellor, becoming 3rd leader of the institution
2010 – Enrollment is 2460; UACCM named as one of the nation’s fastest-growing community colleges
2011 – UACCM marks fifty years of transforming lives through opportunity, access, and hope
